Donguri Palette (どんぐりぱれっと, hereinafter "we" or "us") establishes this Privacy Policy regarding the handling of users' personal information in the service provided on this website (hereinafter "the Service").

Article 1 (Personal Information)

"Personal information" refers to "personal information" as defined under the Act on the Protection of Personal Information, meaning information about a living individual that can identify a specific person through descriptions such as name, date of birth, address, phone number, or other contact details, as well as data relating to appearance, fingerprints, voiceprints, and information that alone can identify a specific individual such as health insurance policy numbers (personal identification information).

Article 2 (Collection of Personal Information)

When users register for the Service, we obtain their email address through Google account authentication. For paid plans, payment information is collected and managed directly by our contracted payment processor (we do not store credit card numbers or similar data). We may also collect access logs (IP addresses, browser information, etc.) through your use of the Service.

Article 3 (Purpose of Collection and Use)

We collect and use personal information for the following purposes:

  1. Providing and operating the Service
  2. Responding to user inquiries (including identity verification)
  3. Sending necessary communications such as maintenance notices and important announcements
  4. Identifying and refusing service to users who violate the Terms of Service or attempt to use the Service for improper purposes
  5. Billing users for paid services
  6. Purposes incidental to the above

Article 4 (Changes to Purpose of Use)

  1. We will only change the purpose of use of personal information when reasonably deemed to have relevance to the purpose before the change.
  2. When the purpose of use is changed, we will notify users or announce the new purpose on this website in a manner prescribed by us.

Article 5 (Provision to Third Parties)

  1. We will not provide personal information to third parties without prior consent, except in the following cases (subject to exceptions permitted by the Act on the Protection of Personal Information and other laws):
    1. When necessary to protect a person's life, body, or property and it is difficult to obtain the person's consent
    2. When particularly necessary for improving public health or promoting healthy development of children and it is difficult to obtain consent
    3. When cooperating with a national or local government body in carrying out legally prescribed duties, and obtaining consent may impede those duties
  2. Notwithstanding the above, the following recipients are not considered third parties:

    2. Parties receiving personal information as a result of a business succession such as a merger

Article 6 (Disclosure of Personal Information)

  1. When requested by the individual to disclose their personal information, we will do so without delay. However, we may withhold all or part of the information if disclosure falls under any of the following, and will promptly notify the individual of such a decision:
    1. When there is a risk of harm to the life, body, property, or other rights of the individual or a third party
    2. When there is a significant risk of disruption to the proper operation of our business
    3. When disclosure would violate other laws or regulations
  2. Notwithstanding the above, information other than personal information, such as browsing history and preference data, will in principle not be disclosed.

Article 7 (Correction and Deletion)

  1. Users may request correction, addition, or deletion (hereinafter "Correction") of their personal information held by us if it is incorrect, through procedures established by us.
  2. If we determine that a request under the preceding paragraph needs to be accommodated, we will perform the Correction without delay.
  3. We will promptly notify the user when a Correction has been made or when we decide not to make a Correction.

Article 8 (Suspension of Use)

  1. If a user requests suspension or deletion of their personal information on the grounds that it is being used beyond the stated purpose or was obtained by improper means, we will conduct the necessary investigation without delay.
  2. Based on the investigation results, if we determine that the request should be accommodated, we will suspend or delete the relevant personal information without delay.
  3. We will promptly notify the user when suspension or deletion has been carried out or when we decide not to do so.
  4. Notwithstanding the preceding two paragraphs, where suspension of use would involve significant cost or is otherwise difficult, and where alternative measures can be taken to protect the user's rights and interests, such alternative measures shall be taken.

Article 9 (Changes to This Policy)

  1. The contents of this Policy may be changed without notice to users, except as otherwise provided by law or this Policy.
